What it is

The ammonium salt of lauryl sulfate, behaves similarly to SLS.

What it does

High-foam cleanser in shampoos and body washes.

Why it’s a concern

Comparable to SLS in skin-barrier disruption and sensitisation risk, especially with extended contact. Reviewed by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review as safe for brief, discontinuous use, but cumulative daily exposure is less well studied.
